Rihanna reigns atop the Billboard Hot 100 once again. The pop star has earned her 11th No. 1 single with “We Found Love.”
The Calvin Harris-produced track rises 2-1 on the chart this week based on airplay and digital sales. The song, which serves as the first single from Rihanna’s sixth album Talk That Talk (Nov. 21), registered 243,000 downloads for the week.
According to Billboard, the Barbados singer becomes the seventh artist in the Hot 100’s 53-year history to score 11 No. 1s, joining the Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (18), Michael Jackson (13), Madonna (12), the Supremes (12), and Whitney Houston (11). She surpasses Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder, who each have 10 No. 1s.
If that was not enough, the 23-year-old ties Houston for most Hot 100 chart-toppers by a female, only trailing Carey and Madonna.
A grateful RiRi took to Twitter to celebrate her latest achievement. “YELLOW DIAMONDS IN THE LIGHT!!! #RihannaNavy you make me look so damn good!! Yall da illest!! Congrats on our 11th #1 We Found Love! Thank U,” she tweeted. “11th NUMBER ONE?????? That shit CRAY!!!! RihannaNavy Talk that Talk!!!!! #WeBadUMad.”
